Developing young talent

The St Anne’s Basketball Club (SABC) was established in 1992 by Angela Greatorex to give children an opportunity to participate in a team sport. SABC is based in East Kew and welcomes children of all abilities into a supportive environment. The club's basic objectives are to teach skills and to encourage each player to develop a positive attitude towards themselves, the team, the Club and the game of basketball.

SABC is family oriented and relies heavily on the involvement of parents, siblings and our supporters.

SABC has strong links with a number of local schools, particularly St Anne’s Primary School at East Kew, and currently has 21 teams participating each week in the Basketball Hawthorn competition.

Basketball Hawthorn comprises nearly 600 teams competing across age groups from under 9's to the under 21's. Basketball Hawthorn select participants for the Hawthorn Magic Junior Representative Program.
